Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Formulation Scientist to join our team at a newly established manufacturing facility. This role offers the opportunity to be a key player in quality control and product development in the growing specialty agricultural industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, quality control, and formulation development.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute quality control (QC) processes to ensure all products meet specifications.
- Utilize analytical instruments such as ICP, nitrogen analyzers, and pH meters to conduct product evaluations.
- Develop and maintain testing methods for fertilizers and other agricultural products.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure proper formulation and production standards.
- Collaborate with customers to develop tailored solutions using surfactants, co-solvents, and emulsifiers.
- Provide technical support and insights to internal stakeholders, including sales and product management teams.
- Lead the lab operations within a new state-of-the-art facility and contribute to its strategic growth.
- Train and onboard future lab hires as the team expands.
- Participate in monthly lab team meetings and occasional collaboration with global colleagues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Chemistry preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in QC, formulation, or analytical work.
- Hands-on experience operating and maintaining analytical instruments such as ICP, pH meters, density meters, and nitrogen analyzers.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize formulations for improved product performance.
- Must be comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing environment (hybrid/remote not available).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in agricultural chemicals or pesticide formulation.
- Background in both formulation and analytical testing.
- Familiarity with precision laboratory processes and industry regulations.
- Ability to repair and adjust laboratory instruments as needed.
- Fluency in Portuguese is a plus, particularly for collaboration with international teams.
